Together with Space F!ght I performed at MIRA Festival 2014 at Santa Monica Arts Centre, Barcelona. MIRA festival is one of the biggest festivals of Live Visual Arts in Spain. Festival featured, lectures, performances and interactive installation art. We had Chris Sharkey on guitar, performing among the usual Space F!ght crew including Tom Adams (electronics), James Mainwaring (sax), Jakub Hader aka Precyzja (visuals and pyramid) and myself on Machinedrum and Octatrack.
Here is really nice teaser made from diverse activities happening during the festival. Try spotting our 3D pyramids.
I performed two sets at Electric Spring festival in Huddersfield this year. In 5 days festival brought lots of sonic exploration ranging from Delia Derbyshire, through Laurent Segretier, Kasper T Toeplitz, to Robert Henke aka Monolake among others.
My two sets included brand new Digital Electricity (2015) and SF a/v solo (2014). Both were linking generative music with detailed sound design and improvisation.
This year Laboratory for Laptop and Electronic Audio Performance Practice (LLEAPP) took place at Edinburgh University’s Inspace. I was invited to take part in it, and I’m really glad I did come as it was an amazing experience. The Project featured workshops and performances with the group of top electronic and acoustic improvisers coming from UK, Europe and USA. It was striking to see each performer with so individual setup, custom made software, DIY and hacked hardware.
I brought combination of instruments I use for Space F!ght, RPE Duo and Freeform projects and experimented their flexiblity in large electronic ensamble environment. I was manipulating my own sound rather then other performers and found it challenging to fit aesthetically with so many electronic musicians.
On the first day we were grouped randomly and performed few sets in quartets and trios finishing with the set featuring all the musicians involved. This …

Audio visual live act that blends the world of music and film together bringing live improvisation and live film montage into one unique art form.
Each performer has three movies cut into dozens of short looped clips. Musicians trigger loops using sound and physical gestures to progress throughout films creating an ever-changing experience and vj style performance for the audience. Music exploits a range of dynamics from subtle gestures, evolving textures, to walls of mass noise. Whole performance represents a fragmented timeline.
Permission of movies generously granted by directors and the Asolo Art Film Festival (Italy).
Nine movies were used from film makers such as: Le Fresnoy, Onni Pohl, Bitzer – Brunck – Weber, Yoko Fukushima, Johanna Vaude, Provorov-Myznikova, Pelin Kirca, Ameera Kawash, Mia Grau and Yuri Ancarani.
The Asolo Thing is played as part of UUCMS audio visual set.

Freeform is a solo piece based on a hardware and software improvisation system I created. The source material used is sampled guitar (Craig Scott). The idea of the system was to be flexible, fast, easy to use and portable. While gathering the source material, one of the few restrictions I placed upon the improviser was a ten-minute timeframe per take, which seemed long enough to get desired results from the improvisers I worked with.
