I am feeling truly humbled and honoured to be awarded Honorary Doctorate at Abertay University Dundee. This means a lot to me, as recognition for my international work with emerging technologies, audio, spatial sound, and generative art. What’s more, I’m receiving this award together with the legendary Brian Cox.
I studied in Dundee 20 years ago and attended all audio-related modules delivered by Dr Kenny McAlpine during my year at Abertay. I was so enthusiastic about sound design that I completed all three years of audio content during my single year there. That experience set me on my journey in sound design and inspired me to pursue a Master’s in Music Technology and later a PhD at the University of York.
Receiving this award from Abertay makes it especially meaningful, bringing back memories of those formative times and the spirit of constant experimentation. Some things never change 🙂
