Glitch Candies

Glitch Candies is a pioneering project launched by Glitch NFT Studio on Stargaze, featuring the first handmade generative collection of evolving sculptures, crafted with sound synthesis and GLSL shaders, and minted on the Cosmos ecosystem.

Influenced by noise, the colour, texture, and sound of each candy are unique, offering utility beyond 4K resolution print-ready artwork and HD video. Glitch Candies collections embrace the complexity of code and error while seeking beauty in human interaction with blockchain technology.

As the founder and lead artist, I hand-sculpt each candy using a bespoke Max patch with GLSL shaders and modular synthesis. The genesis collection’s AV JSON files store the settings of the candies from the patch, making them mixed media pieces akin to synthesiser presets and mini VJ sets. Glitch Candies aesthetics have been leveraged by Glitch NFT Studio in the metaverse and assets are CC0 licensed, serving as game-ready items, 3D models, wearables, and PNG files that function as both artworks and NFT collections. To date, four Glitch Candy collections have been minted on Cosmos chains.
