I was invited to amazing festival in Cyprus in Jan 2016. Lefkosia Loop Festival happens in Cyprus in the first week of January (5,6th this year). This was a 5th edition of the festival with already established audience and really diverse acts. What a great start of the year! I brought my Elektron boxes both Machinedrum and Octatrack, OP1 and performed with first attempt of live patching my Serge modular setup (Creature+Quad Slope combo). I was amazed with warm welcome from the audience who seemed to enjoy the show. Following the festival I recorded new tunes with new and old friends from Cyprus. Hoping to take them live soon, so watch this space.
I just came back from amazing trip to New Zealand and Singapore, where I went for study leave and toured with Space F!ght in Oct/November 2015 with dates in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. During the trip I facilitated workshops at New Zealand School of Music in Wellington, CPIT in Christchurch and University of Waikato in Hamilton. I did presentations for students and academic staff on data sonification, showcased workflow and approaches to live improv. I performed with Space F!ght in unique lineup with Anna Edgington(voice) and Tane Upjohn-Beatson(guitar).

Oxford Overdrive Sound Pack is my second wavetable pack made specifically for the Monomachine commissioned by Elektron Music Machines.
The idea was to sample vintage synthesizer in order to get single cycle wave forms, as User Waves. These can be used, as part of wavetable synthesis sound engine utilised in the Monomachine. It is used for extending the sound palette, changing the tone and adding a bit of vibe from the old keyboard synths to the modern machine.
OSCar is classic British mono synth released in 1983 by Oxford Synthesiser Company (OSC). Big thanks goes to John Diver who let me use his unit, so I could create this sound pack. I’ve been told he got it new once it was released.

Together with Space F!ght and Pouya Ehsaei commissioned by British Council Iran we performed at Southbank Centre, London. For the Iranian New Year (Nowruz) celebration show, we composed original music aiming to mix Iranian folk with minimal techno and live improvisation. We mixed cheerful, upbeat techno music with ambient elements including Iranian influences (poems, rhythms and sampled instruments). Analysing the frequency spectra of Iranian music we synthesised new sound material using modular synthesiser, guitar pedals and custom made software.
Joining forces with Pouya Ehsaei meant that we brought even more gear to to make the show. Setup was surprisingly simple and easy to mange by three people, each having specific roles. Pouya mixing, processing and mainly taking care of ambient material. Enrcio Bertelli – acoustic percussion improvisation and myself providing electronic rhythm section with drum machine (Analog Rytm) and sampler (Octatrack).

Together with Space F!ght I performed at MIRA Festival 2014 at Santa Monica Arts Centre, Barcelona. MIRA festival is one of the biggest festivals of Live Visual Arts in Spain. Festival featured, lectures, performances and interactive installation art. We had Chris Sharkey on guitar, performing among the usual Space F!ght crew including Tom Adams (electronics), James Mainwaring (sax), Jakub Hader aka Precyzja (visuals and pyramid) and myself on Machinedrum and Octatrack.

I performed two sets at Electric Spring festival in Huddersfield this year. In 5 days festival brought lots of sonic exploration ranging from Delia Derbyshire, through Laurent Segretier, Kasper T Toeplitz, to Robert Henke aka Monolake among others.
My two sets included brand new Digital Electricity (2015) and SF a/v solo (2014). Both were linking generative music with detailed sound design and improvisation.

Immortal Waves pack was made using vintage Minimoog Model D owned by Department of Electronics at the University of York (Big thanks to John Grant and Andrew Chadwick for letting me in to use this lovely synth). Alene is a Contemporary dance duet about mental illness. The dance performance aims to draw attention towards a subject that throughout history has been quieted down in society and a subject many people find difficult to understand and to talk about. How do we relate to people who suffer from mental disease and what kind of responsibility do we have towards this group of people?
In this 40min show I composed music and did sound design. I mainly used Eurorack modular synthesiser to generate the sound material. Generative patches provided gestural sound textures to compliment the dancers moves. Aided with drum machine and groovebox improvisation, piece was structured around 6 themes varying in density of material (from ambient through beat-based dub to noise).

Piece made in collaboration with Stockholm Environment Institute and NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who took care of scientific underpinning of the project. In this piece satellite ozone data was used to generate the sound and audio-reactive visualization. Together with Jakub Hader (Precyzja, visualisation) we are using ground level ozone data, which is the best representation of the ozone that harms human health. The piece is using the data from different locations around the globe with diverse level of ozone concentration of Moscow, Amazon, Beijing representing the ozone data rather than culture or any other characteristic of the locations. To represent each place average monthly ozone concentration is used in a time series of 12 months.

This video mapping is based on data sonification generated from MMN (mismatch negativity) in EEG data of two people.
One is healthy, the other is an individual with a recent diagnosis of Schizophrenia. Every element is generated live with custom software environment patched in VVVV running in real time. The sound design was generated using eurorack synthesiser connected to computer running Max/MPS and controlling the synth via data.
Piece shows that society should live in harmony. This project is an attempt to show how you can get easily lost and loose your balance of perception while looking at images that seem very real.
The EEG waveform was slowed down 5x and used as complex modulator for the Eurorack modular synthesiser. Sound material was generated using Intellijel Shapeshifter as sound generator, MakeNoise Maths, as envelope follower/scaling and Cwejman MMF6 as waveshaper/filter.
